Cora Benton
Cora Benton, 84, of Church Hill passed away on Sunday (January 31, 2010) at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed sewing and spending time in her flower garden. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie Benton, two daughters, Wanda Faye Davis and Brenda Stapleton, brothers, Fred, Mack, Emory, and Howard Benton, sisters, Margaret and Stella Hutson, and Gladys Benton, and twin sister, Lora Begley, one grandson, Scottie Davis and granddaughter, Debbie Derrick.
She is survived by her daughters, Blanche Derrick of Church Hill, Janet Crigger and her husband, Jim of Mt. Carmel, brother, Earl and Frances Benton, sisters, Leona Smith and Ethel Barnette, both of Church Hill, grandchildren, Steve Derrick, Marcie Derrick, Rhonda Baker, Eric Price, Russell Neumann, Jessica Cowan, Jennifer Cool, Jill Wilson and Wendy Crawford, several great grandchildren, four special great great grandchildren, Dalton and Braeden Mullins, Brylee and Callie Brice.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Benton cemetery with Rev. Teddy Webb officiating.
Pallbearers will be Eric Price, Russell Neumann, Rick Carter, Jim Crigger, Tommy Baker, and Alan Mullins.
Honorary bearers will be Dillon Carter and Austin Baker.

Janet, I am so sorry in your losing your mother. I did not see it in the paper until about 7:00 that evening, or I would have come to visitaion. I have been praying for you and your family in the loss of your precious mother. God bless and comfort you.
