Mavis Inez Winegar

Mavis Inez Winegar, 84, of Church Hill passed away on Monday (February 8, 2010) at Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born in Scott County, Virginia and was a member of Cedar Grove Church. She loved gardening and flowers, but especially loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother to her children and was a very loving wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, S.C. and Martha Gamble Callett, husband, Frank Winegar, sons, F.W. and Lynn Winegar, daughter-in-law, Shirley Winegar, special son-in-law, Bobbie Stokes, her baby brother and sister, James and Ada Davis.
She was survived by her sons, Ralph and Shirley Winegar, Don and Kathy Winegar, Paul and Juanita Winegar, Dean and Judy Winegar, Rick and Penny Winegar, daughter, Verna Ann Winegar, brother, Joe Davis, sisters, Evelyn Moffitt, Emma Lynn, Marie Sword, Shirley Howell, eleven grandchildren, David Winegar, Wayne Winegar, Brenda Keene, Jody Winegar, Sandy Bellamy, Tina Manis, William Winegar, Ricky Winegar, D.J. Winegar, Andy Winegar, Edna Winegar, eighteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Scalf and Rev. Arry Hickman officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Winegar Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Winegar, William Winegar, Jody Winegar, Bobby Higgins, D.J. Winegar, and Ricky Winegar.
Honorary bearers will be Wayne and Andy Winegar.
