Anna Ruth Dotson, age 73, of Church Hill passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illess.
Mrs. Dotson was born in Russell County, Virginia, and had lived in Georgia, Florida , Michigan and Kingsport before moving to Church Hill in 1982. She retired from J.C. Penney in 2001 with over 25 years of service. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ford King and Flossie Cunningham King.
Survivors include her husband, Edsel R. Dotson of the home. Step-daughter; Melissa Jo Ozaki and husband Scott of San Diego, California. Granddaughter; Amanda Davis of Richmond, Virginia. Sisters; Pauline Hartsock and husband Bill of Castlewood, Virginia and Faye Roe and husband Dan of Mohawk, Tennessee. Brother; Joe King of Lebanon, Virginia. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 pm Monday at the Johnson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 7 pm Monday at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrell Roe and Reverend Darryl Baker officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 am Tuesday at the Church Hill Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are, Billy Larkins, Westley Barrett, Will Alley, Jeff Dotson, Roger Carter, Kent Hartsock, David Roe and Chris King. Honorary pallbearers are, Rex Arnold, Larry Cradic and Carl D. Alley.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
