Marie Christian Dykes
Marie Christian Dykes, 69, of Mt. Carmel, passed away on July 9, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was a born again Christian and of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bessie Christian, sisters, Maggie Ruth Christian, Katheleen Gilliam, Roxie Wagner, Willie Way, Helen Collins, brother, Donald Christian.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rev, Billy Dykes, daughter, Harriett Merica and her husband, Marvin of College Park Maryland, son, Mark Dykes, and his wife Carla of Church Hill, daughter, Amanda Dykes of the home, grandchildren, Chadwick Guy First Class Petty Officer stationed in San Diego on the USS Carl Vinson, and his fiance, Mindy Seal, Tosha and David Stokes, Monica and Micheal Babb, great-grandchildren, Brianna, Andrew, and Krysten Stokes, Emily Marie Babb, step grandchildren, Jason and Sharon Merica of Frederick, Maryland, Rachel and David Kindle of Kingsport, and step great grandchild, Cody Goode, sisters, Sharon and Jimmy Hunley, Delores Way, Charlotte and Robert Bass, Janie Hickman and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carl Ferrell officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at Liberty Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chadwick Guy, Marvin Merica, John Adams, Brad Smith, Terry Hunley, and John Hill.

Amanda, Mark, Harriet, Billy & the rest of the family. I so sorry to hear of ur lost. Marie was such a special lady. She was always happy and upbeat with a heart full of love...she will be greatly missed here, but so blessed at home in heaven.
