Anna Cox
Anna Cox, 92, passed away peacefully after an extended illness at the Wexford House on Wednesday (July 14, 2010).
She was a member of Wallens Bend Baptist Church of Eidson, Tennessee until her death, and she attended Mt. Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Cox enjoyed gardening and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Dillie Hurd, brothers, Guy R. Hurd, M.K. Hurd, Curtis Hurd, Coy Hurd, and two infant brothers, sisters, Mayme Hurd, Kate Greene, and Sallie Trent.
She is survived by her faithful and loving husband of 67 years, Vernon D. Cox, daughter, Janice Chatman, grandson, Kevin Chatman and his fiance, Connie Hall, and the light of her life, great grandson, Brady Chatman, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 2 to 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Elder Fred Gilreath and Elder Bob Williams officiating.
Graveside Services will be conducted following the service at Church Hill Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be family members.
